Amazon Kindle ebook download problems?

Are you finding that no matter what you do Amazon won't send you AZW files any more? It's defaulting to the "will be delivered via Whispernet" message?

Well, It seems that I was the very first person to have or report this issue to Amazon UK and it appears that the problem is caused by your "My Kindle" archive being full so there's no space to back-up the book you are buying to.

The archive will hold 500 ebooks and no more.
So if you aer having these problems then you need to delete at least 50-100 titles from your My Kindle archive.

And then you will be able to download AZW files as normal.

Problem solved.

Downloading off 4OD

I've been Googling around to try and grab stuff off the 4OD web page and it seems I've actually found something that works. Grab a gizmo called Stream Transport (it used to be known as Any FLV Downloader) from here :- http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/StreamTransport-Download-HTTP-RTMP-RTMPE-streams.htm

And give it the URL of the show you want to grab (which you can copy & paste off the pop-out window), let it play the adverts then once the show starts highlight the last article on the list and click download. Its not very quick but you'll get a decent enough quality FLV that you can convert into a slightly more watchable format if you so desire.

Things worth bearing in mind. It will grab shows in real time, in other words if the show lasts 25 minutes it'll take 25 minutes to grab it. Regardless of your download speed.

The FLV's are in a slightly weird format so I had to use FLV Convertor from here :- http://www.flv-converter.org/
which made decent quality AVI's but was able to produce most formats you might want to edit. Make sure you adjust the video bitrate as it defaults to 64k which looks awful.

This has been confirmed as also working for shows off ITV Player & Demand Five.
