Installing a PCI Graphics card into a Lenovo M52

Well my card arrived today and its now in the machine and working, there was a bit of fiddling around to both physically fit it and to get to working properly in Windows but as promised heres the walk through.

Open the case (use the buttons on the side).
Remove the riser array (I had to use a screwdriver here).
Fit card on riser and replace riser array.
Close case and put video input onto PCI card.
Boot machine and enter BIOS (press enter).
Press F1, go into Devices then Video Setup.
Change "Select Active Video" to PCI and press F10 to save settings and exit.
Boot, if boot fails enter safe mode.
Enter Control Panel and Disable all Intel video drivers.
(if machine still wont boot then update ATI drivers from cd)
Boot machine, it should now login with your new card all working.

My Weekly TNA Catch-up, Impact 23rd Jul 09 reviewed

After a quick review of the Victory Road PPV the show opens with Taz coming out to the ring to speak in his classic black & orange clothes.
X Division Championship - Samoa Joe (and Taz) vs Homicide. This was as dull as hell with no action until Joe punched the ref, Homicide tried 3 different finishers which Joe sidestepped all of and locked in the rear naked choke hold but once the ref recovered he called for the bell. The ref DQ'd Joe so Homicide took the win and retained his title. Joe started the beatdown then some music hit and Hernandez came out but Taz advised Joe to bail.
Backstage s**t with Mick Foley then the MEM come out to the ring to yack.
Legends Championship, Amazing Red vs Kevin Nash - Due to some thoughtless billboarding d**khead from RSPW I already know Red lost this, Nash took the win off the Jack Knife Powerbomb to retain his title.
Tag Team Championship, Scott Steiner & Booker T vs Big Rocco & Sally Boy - Rocco & Sal came out of the faces entrance tunnel. A really c**p match where Steiner barely kicked out of a frogsplash from Rocco as Sharmell also distracted the ref, Booker hit the worst chokeslam/bookend I've ever seen with Steiner taking the win off the front face slam.
10 Knockout Battle Royal, ODB vs Alissa Flash vs Sojo Bolt vs Daffney vs Taylor Wilde vs Awesome Kong vs Angelina Love vs Velvet Sky vs Madison Rayne vs Tara vs Sarita - Making a welcome return was Traci Brooks coming back to her role as Knockout Law, the winner of this match gets $50,000 and becomes the MEM's "chosen one". Despite being billed as having 10 people in there were actually 11 as Sarita wasn't introduced.
Awesome Kong eliminated Daffney 1st then Madison Rayne 2nd, Taylor Wilde eliminated Sojo Bolt 3rd, Tara eliminated Velvet Sky 4th, Alissa Flash eliminated Taylor Wilde 5th, Sarita eliminated Alissa Flash 6th (so it seems Raisha Saeed is now dead & gone with no explanation then?), ODB eliminated Angelina Love 7th, Awesome Kong eliminated ODB 8th, Awesome Kong eliminated Sarita 9th leaving Awesome Kong & Tara as the final 2.
Tara (with the assistance of Traci Brooks) eliminated Awesome Kong but in a completely unexpected twist Traci Brooks also eliminated Tara and Kevin Nash awards Traci Brooks the prize.
10 Man Tag Match, The British Invasion, Kiyoshi & Sheik Abdul Bashir vs Beer Money, AJ Styles, Daniels & Eric Young - With Young having already turned heel the result of this match was always going to be in question with Young as part of the face team. At last Rob Terry is finally having his 1st match as part of the British Invasion, the match was average at best with order eventually breaking down and everyone brawling. AJ had Brutus Magnus set up for the Styles Clash but Young hit a piledriver on Styles allowing Brutus Magnus to take the easy pin for his team.
Keys On A Pole Match, Kurt Angle vs Mick Foley - From the mind of that retard Russo, whoever gets the keys takes control of Mick Foleys office. I assume that also means they have the power that goes with that office too otherwise this match is not only s**t but totally unimportant. Not a good match at all, Foleys Superplex was nice as was his Double Arm DDT. Foley had the match won and was about to get the keys when Samoa Joe and the rest of the MEM did a run in forcing the ref to call for the bell (assuming Foley won on a DQ off outside interference). Angle berates Foley and Bobby Lashley comes out, Angle gives him the signal to take Foley out and Lashley floors all of the MEM on his own and to be honest he completely telegraphed that swerve.

Tonights Impact was pretty s**t and certainly didn't make up for the c***py PPV this weekend, I liked the twist in the Knockouts match and that was about it.

Finally bought a dedicated graphics card

After putting up with the inboard Intel graphics chip that gave an ok picture but lags like a bastard even on certain flash internet browser games I finally purchased a Sapphire RADEON 9250 PCI 128MB card today off Ebay. I've heard there can be quite a few issues about installing a PCI graphics card into a Lenovo like mine so I will document the complete procedure when it finally arrives. Watch this space for more details.

At least I know the card WILL fit inside the machine and it should be ok for power too, I have read that possible stumbling blocks may involve flashing my systems BIOS, disabling the current onboard chip in the BIOS and altering other BIOS settings where necessary.

My TNA Catch-up, Victory Road PPV 09

Knockout Championship, Angelina Love (with Velvet Sky & Madison Rayne) vs Tara - Tara was on top from the start making a nice Taratula on Love but getting distracted by Sky & Rayne allowing Love to make a fairly extended comeback, Sky accidently sprayed Love with the "hairspray" and Tara had the cover off a schoolboy roll-up until that f**kwitted retard Slick Johnson decided it was more important to send Sky & Rayne backstage allowing Love the time to kick out. Tara made a nice rotating sideslam but missed a reverse moonsault allowing Love to make the pin but Slick Johnson didn't see Taras foot on the rope but Angelina Love is the new Knockout Champion and Slick Johnson deserved everything he got.
Matt Morgan vs Daniels - I'm not exactly sure what bookers were thinking when they made this match, the only heat these 2 guys have was created in a really crap way so no-one really wants to see this match. Control switched between both guys numerous times, they were in and out of the ring but Morgan took the rather predictable win off the Hellavator in a match that was at least 10 minutes too long.
No DQ Match, Dr. Stevie vs Abyss - As a no DQ match it was fair to assume there would be a run in by Daffney or some form of interference from someone else. The "new ring gear" Abyss was wearing was just a jacket over his old ring gear he used wear when James Mitchell was his manager. This match was basically just Abyss beating the c**p out of Stevie who bladed at some point (I didn't notice exactly when) but Abyss hit the shock treatment and only held his pin for a 2 count which made Daffney run in with tazer which brought backstage announcer and "girlfriend" of Abyss Lauren come out to stop her.
Stevie went to use the tazer and Abyss hit the Black Hole Slam, used the tazer on Stevie and made the easy pin to take the win. Why this was a PPV match God himself only knows as I wouldn't have given it away for free on Impact. To anyone wondering about the holes on the back of the top Abyss was wearing should also look at the scars across the tattoo on his arm, all of which were sustained in a barbed wire match against Sabu in TNA several years ago.
IWGP Heavyweight Tag Championship, The British Invasion (with Rob Terry) vs Team 3D - As soon as Slick Johnson (having made a f**king miraculous recovery from Taras dropkick on him earlier) failed to send Rob Terry back to the locker room it was pretty certain he'd be interfering at some point during this match which he did but Team 3D took the eventual win off the 3D on Doug Williams. VERY boring match which was far too long. The run in and beatdown from Kiyoshi & Sheik Abdul Bashir was more entertaining however Kiyoshi exited over the top rope thanks to Brother Ray and Bashir took a Super Bubba Bomb through a table.
Special Challenge Match, Sharmell (with Sojo Bolt) vs Jenna Morasca (with Awesome Kong) - The introductions of this match were VERY poor indeed and you really couldn't tell who was going to be wrestling especially with Sharmell having come to the ring in ang evening gown and both Kong & Bolt came dressed to rumble, Kong came without Raisha Saeed which I think is yet another teaser towards the fact her character is on the way out and we will be seeing more of either Cheerleader Melissa or Alissa Flash.
Well I've seen gimmick matches with men dressed as women wrestling women, I've seen announcers & General Managers wrestle and I've seen wrestlers Managers & Valets wrestle. This however reminded me of the very 1st episode of Hulk Hogans Celebrity Championship Wrestling as neither of these women really have much in the way of wrestling ability and the match itself has so little heat it didn't even belong on tv let alone get midcard status on a PPV. Quite frankly the ECW catfight days were better matches than this.
Jenna pulled some of Sharmells weave out & Bolt tried to interfere but Kong put a stop to that and played with the piece of weave. You'd think that someone who'd recently lost a large amount of hair would have demonstrated some sort of sympathy there? Anyway Kong clobbered Sharmell with her fist and allowed Jenna to take the easy win in this p**s poor excuse for a match.
Legends Championship, Kevin Nash vs AJ Styles - Very poor match that even Styles with his stunning array of moves couldn't make look good, Styles was on top for most of it but Nash took the win off a simple chokeslam to become new Legends Champion. Extremely poor match and it makes you wonder how much they paid Styles to job in such a poor fashion.
Tag Team Championship, Scott Steiner & Booker T vs Beer Money - Beer Money had this won twice but after a poor bit of "something in my eye" acting by Earl Hebner Booker hit the axe kick on Roode on the apron allowing Steiner to make a schoolboy roll-up to make the pin and the MEM are now new Tag Team Champions.
Grudge Match, Samoa Joe vs Sting - By the sounds of the interview Joe gave before this match we are FINALLY going to see Tazz. Most of the start of this was in the crowd which was just them beating the c**p out of each other without really making much of a match but it improved a bit once they got back in the ring with Joe making a rather good suicide dive.
Recently it has seemed like Joes heart hasn't been in his job mainly due to having to work really shitty matches where he's just angry and beats on people without getting any actual match or finish. Joe had been paintbrushing Sting with slaps but Sting came back and made a sideslam where both guys were left holding their heads (bad landing or over selling?), Sting was on top from here and had the Scorpion Leg Lock synched in with Joe about to tap when some music hit, the orange & black FTW graphic came up on the screen and Tazz came out in a black suit. Joe had a miracle comeback but Sting fought off the musclebuster so Joe went for the rear naked chokehold forcing Sting to tap out so Samoa Joe took the win leaving Joe to celebrate with Tazz.
It is announced Bobby Lashley HAS signed to TNA. Oh dear, what the f**k for? Theres no-one really big to work with him & I can't see him getting any kind of title shots for a few months at least so him coming to TNA is pointless just like Frank Trigg in fact. He's not going to further his wrestling career any as fans will just cite his MMA matches as to why anyone in TNA should be beating him. Do TNA really need someone of Lashleys size & background, simple answer? No.
World Heavyweight Championship, Mick Foley vs Kurt Angle - This started out slow (someone reported that Angle worked this match with a groin strain? I saw no indications of that) with mat work and just devolved into farce after Foley went for the Socko Claw only for Angle to push Foley into the ref then hit the Angle Slam which Foley kicked out of after 2 causing Angle to drop an elbow on the ref (surely an instant DQ right there?) althought when Angle went to get the chair he was limping and holding his upper thigh so maybe evidence of the groin strain there?
Foley pre-empted the chair and hit the Socko Claw (at least call the move correctly West & Tenay?) throwing Angle through the ropes to the floor before hitting a flying elbow drop from the apron onto Angle. Foley had a leg scissors hold with the Socko Claw but Angle resisted the submission, Foley resisted the ankle lock once breaking the hold by reaching the ropes but Angle hit the Ankle Lock again and Foley tapped out allowing Angle to retain his title on a night where the MEM dominated and this was a really poor PPV as far as matches, finishes and general quality went.

My Weekly TNA Catch-up, Impact 16th Jul 09 reviewed

Hopefully normal service is being resumed this week.
Mick Foley comes out to air a few opinions, Kurt Angle joins him & Sting upsets things.
Samoa Joe vs The Amazing Red - This one started in the backstage area with Joe jumping Red and they fought down the ramp into the ring. Sadly this was yet another c***py finish with Amazing Red taking the win after Joe manhandled the ref and got himself DQ'd. Red needs to be asking questions about s**t finishes like this because he took an AWESOME double bump down the entry ramp and allowed Joe to kick the s**t out of him and didn't even get to properly finish the match. This whole "angry" Joe storyline needs to get over and done as its just getting him S**T non-matches that aren't helping get him over at all.
Various backstage s**t.
Chris Sabin vs Suicide - This isn't an X Division Title match & Kaz is still avoiding the zipline entry so he is STILL worried about his bad knee not having healed fully? Not a great match and it appears the idea about unmasking Suicide has suddenly been remembered again now another PPV is coming around (shame they completely forgot it at the last PPV eh?), Suicide took the eventual win off The Suicide Solution. Shelley & Sabin beat Suicide down and Homicide came down with the Feast Or Fired case and made the save on Suicide then Homicide cashed in his title shot.
X Division Championship, Homicide vs Suicide - Suicide had absolutely zero chance here having taken a chair to the head literally less than 60 seconds before this match started, Suicide kicked out of 1 pin attempt but Homicide took the win off The Gringo Killer to become new X Division Champion. I assume because Kaz is unsure about the zipline entry of Suicide they decided to give the title to someone else so I can only guess they are going to "reveal" who Suicide is very soon?
Angelina Love comes out dressed in a Beekeepers costume to berate Tara having taken her title and claims its a fluke.
Alissa Flash vs Sarita - Flash is none other than Raisha Saeed aka Cheerleader Melissa getting a chance to be out of her burkha for a change, Sarita is Sarah Stock from the CMLL promotion now working for TNA. Flash was all power & Sarita was all speed and high flying, this was actually a nice match. The suicide dive from Sarita was good and they both worked outside the ring with Sarita bumping on the floor mats & guard rail.
Sarita made a lovely springboard crossbody block but didn't have the weight to get the pin however her flying armbar was outstanding! Flash in her mannerisms and costume and moves really reminds me of Mschif (from SHIMMER & ROH) which makes sense because the 2 have worked together before now. Sarita took the eventual win off a VERY scrappy roll-through that didn't look like it'd been practiced at all and Sarita definately hurt herself when she took the backdrop onto the turnbuckle that hit her in the neck and back of the head as she was holding her neck after the match.
6 Man Elimination Tag Match, Kevin Nash, Scott Steiner & Booker T vs Beer Money & AJ Styles - If any rules or stipulations were explained then I fast forwarded through them. Basically they were doing it like WWF used to do Survivor Series, if your pinned your eliminated and last team with people still on it wins. Nash eliminated Styles off a f**king AWFUL powerbomb (not even AJ could fix that god awful throw Kev made), Steiner eliminated Storm (no clue what move that was supposed to be, half DDT & half drop toehold).
Roode eliminated Nash after hitting a lowblow and the main problem with this match was it kept concentrating on Sharmell & Jenna in an attempt to build some heat for their PPV match this weekend (that no-one cares about or wants to see either) as well as Matt Morgan jumping Storm outside the ring it seemed TNA totally didn't care about this match itself it was far too busy laying storyline ground work and setting up heat for matches no-one wants to see.
Considering this was a tag match not once did the ref make any counts when the MEM were triple and double teaming Roode, Roode had Booker pinned but Sharmell distracted the ref which allowed Booker to take the pin off a kick to the head. P**s poor match and they really didn't care at all what was happening in the ring. The fact that Sharmell & Jenna had a s**tty & very short post match cat-fight was even more evidence of that.
6 Sides Of Steel Non-Title Grudge Match, Kurt Angle vs Sting - Ok well this was just above average but dropped into the realms of utter shit when Samoa Joe rather predictably ran down and tried to interfere but luckily Sting was waiting for him and hit the Scorpion Leg Lock then the lights went down, they ran a "FTW" graphic in orange and Joe suddenly had Sting in the Tazzmission so it looks like Tazz's debut can't be that far away but they sure hell have dragged it out. Keep em peeled for this weekends PPV I guess.
TNA also announced they are hiring a new Japanese girl Ayako Hamada who looks cute and works hardcore so I am happy as long as she debuts real soon. I am also wondering if we will see the end to the Raisha Saeed gimmick soon allowing the full time work of Cheerleader Melissa or Alissa Flash either I'd be happy to watch. I have my doubts about Sarita (who quite frankly looks like she'd break if you DDT'd her), she is just too slim and petite to be taken seriously.

Poemy rap type things I wrote elsewhere ages ago.

The 'Dam. © 30/07/06.

Going to the 'Dam with The GLC crew,
A jaunt that whole bloody forum should do.
We were going to see them in Ibiza,
But going to The 'Dam is miles bleeding cheaper!

Going on the boat, Or going by plane,
Kicking it with Eggsy and Adam Hussain.
Smoking with Mystikal & Maggot in tow,
In The 'Dam, You can legally buy your blow!

(The Break!)
Take time for a toke and a laugh and a joke,
With a clart whose a lass or a spa whose a bloke.

Out with P. Xain on the razz,
On the streets with Mystikal smoking the jazz.
Being fucking mental with Mike Balls,
Hear that Clart? It's The 'Dam that calls!

With the sexy ladies for Adam Hussain,
And a hundred ways to mash your brain
A weekend there won't break the bank,
So The GLC you'd better thank!

Fuck eating crumpets spread with jam,
Let's invite The GLC and go to The 'Dam!

Smacks Of Procrastination. © 6/8/06.

Smacks of procrastination,
Should have done it now,
Out of frustration.
Smacks of procrastination,
Would have done it right away
But I saw my play station.

Things should be done right away,
At least that's what my mum and dad say.
But I like to sit and wait,
Leave it til later, Let's procrastinate.

Smacks of procrastination,
Should have done it now,
Out of frustration.
Smacks of procrastination,
It's a bad case,
Terminal hesitation.

I can't seem to get anything done,
Far too busy sitting on my bum
Shall I go out and take the car for a run,
Let's do nothing it's much more fun.

Smacks of procrastination,
Should have done it now,
Out of frustration.
Smacks of procrastination,
Doing bugger all,
It's recreation.

This was all caused by smoking my bong,
That's where everything all went wrong,
So now I'm sitting playing Donkey Kong,
Can't even be bothered to finish this song!

Smacks of procrastination,
Should have done it now,
Out of frustration.
Smacks of procrastination,
Worst thing is,
It's effected the nation.

(Can you be bothered?
Nah.
Me either.
Let's go the pub!)

The End.

Lenova M series upgrades you can't do!

Do you own an IBM/Lenova ThinkCentre? M series? Is it an M52? An 8215? A CTO?
Want to fit it with a PCI Graphics card better than the on board 128 Meg piece of crap it has?

Well you can't! Because your PSU won't handle it.
The machine only has a 225w PSU and every graphics card above 128 Meg needs at LEAST 250W.

So your fucked. Just like I am. This means I won't be playing Portal until I buy a new computer.
So basically never then.
Thanks to the wankers at IBM for fitting a PCI slot for graphics & for fitting a FUCKING low wattage PSU.
WANKERS!

My Weekly TNA Catch-up, Impact 2nd Jul 09 reviewed

After totally ruining last week for me this weeks Impact review will be results only.
Cody Deaner (with ODB) vs The Amazing Red - Amazing Red took the win off The Redeye (modified Tornado DDT). Ok match for Red actually.
Eric Young vs Rhino (with Jesse Neal) - Young took the win off a Schoolboy Roll-up with some help off his feet on the middle rope. Poor match which didn't help further anyone involved.
Knockout Tag Match, The Beautiful People (with Madison Rayne) vs Awesome Kong (with Raisha Saeed) & Tara - Kong took the win off the Implant Buster on Sky. Good match for Tara, everyone else was average.
#1 Contenders Tag Match, Team 3D vs Scott Steiner & Booker T - Can anyone explain why the announcer called this a "non-title match", MEM have no title anyway & 3D had left their IWGP titles in the locker room. Booker T took the win after Brutus Magnus nailed Brother Ray in the head with the Feast or Fired case as Doug Williams distracted the ref. P**s poor match, even worse finish.

Jethro Holliday vs Jay Lethal - Or not seeing as Abyss jumped him & Consequences Creed backstage. No result as no match took place. Thats called a RUSSO FINISH.
Tag Match For The TNA World Heavyweight Championship, Jeff Jarrett & AJ Styles vs Kurt Angle & Samoa Joe - Stipulations were if Styles or Jarrett pin someone then they win the belt & likewise if Joe or Angle pin someone they retain the belt. Angle took the win with the Ankle Lock off Jarrett after Jarrett "passed out". Ultra weak finish.
As well as having to fend off competition for its current audience share against WWE Superstars TNA is now also facing competition from Fox who are broadcasting CMLL Wrestling also on Thursdays. With no storylines and just wrestling I think this will be the show that finally kills TNA, the dolly birds in bikinis on the entrance ramp is going to help them there too. If TNA really want to compete and survive then they have to listen to their viewers. Dixie Carter, its time to fire Russo & hire Paul Heyman.
