Ghost Lab S02E04 Afterlife Sentence

I wasnt going to write a full review but I noted down a few things as I watched.

As far as the stuff at the prison goes, the EVPs were so quiet and too iffy. The young guy who recorded the banging, could have been anything and anyone so it has to be thrown out.

The investigation at the residence, both the "shadow men" were really easily debunkable.
The one on Brad cam was caused by him shining his torch around his vest, really easy to fake and even easier to explain.
The one the camera guy caught in the window I'd debunk any number of ways but a crane camera outside seems to be the most likely and logical reason for that shadow moving the way it moved where it was.

The fact it even pans up trying to move out of the camera guys shot makes me think crane camera even more.

Despite the heavy EMF source that they explained they insisted everything inside was paranormal.
So nothing to do with EMF hypersensitivity then? Its jumping to conclusions like that that stopped me writing full reviews.

Ghost Lab S02E03 Lizzie Borden reviewed

Again with the pre-credits spoilers? Did we already not decide those were a bad idea? Brad & Barry are spending the night in the Lizzie Borden House, the Lab will arrive tomorrow. One of the brothers claims he heard something shutting. During the info on the house we discover the Liz Borden rhyme is actually complete garbage and that she only hit her mother (actually her step-mother so even that part is untrue) 19 times. Not 40 as claimed in the poem. She only hit her father 11 times, nowhere near the 41 the rhyme claims. It also appears she was never proven to actually be the killer. What ever happened to "Innocent until proven guilty"?

It appears they are still being stupid about the whole point of the RT EVP Recorder, if its not being monitored in real time as well what is the point of even using it?

The Lizzie Borden House - Fall River, Massachusetts.
With absolutely no thanks to the Discovery Channel for failing to even inform us where the location was, I had to Google. Unless its not Brad & Barry investigating the location just take it as read.

Guest Bedroom - They start off with pretty intense provoking both verbally & with rather graphic projections of the murder scenes, whatever it was they reacted to I never heard over the incidental soundtrack, Brad also claims to have been kicked (he's holding his ribs so that would have been one pretty high kick). To non-Americans a Charley Horse is just your basic involuntary muscle spasm, back in the Lab they play back an EVP recorded at 20 Hertz (so right on the limit of human hearing) they claim is saying "I am not through with you". Some sounds that may be words can be made out but its just too quiet to say what they are.

There are 2 EMF spikes that coincide with the 2 pieces of activity in the room.

Back in the Guest Bedroom - Barry goes in first on his own, their intention is to do "Good Cop, Bad Cop" to provoke Andrew Borden, Lizzies father. Barry goes up back into aggressive provocation mode when Barry feels like he wasnt getting anywhere.

Night 2 with Jeff the trial lawyer brought in as a kind of Era Cues style experiment in the stepmothers room, Brad does hard provoking as usual then they move to the sitting room where Andrew was murdered. Brad provokes hard again & they think they can hear someone walking up the stairs. Back in the Lab Steve Hock presents an EVP recorded at 170 Hertz saying "You got that right" in answer to the question "Did she kill you for the money?".

Stone's Public House - Ashland, Massachusetts.
An actually graphic denoting the location would be handy Discovery Channel, again I had to use Google.

Bar - Nothing happens.

Room 22 - They are investigating as a train comes past, like thats not going to ruin any kind of audio recorded then. Once the train passes they are asking if the girls spirit plays in the halls outside the rooms then Brad freaks out & takes off after what turns out to be absolutely nothing. The difference between him doing it & Britt Griffiths doing it is Barry is actually wearing a headcam which captures everything in his eyeline which is sadly nothing. Brad thinks he saw a shadow walk into the wall. Playback in the Lab has Brad creaming himself as Barry says "I didnt see BLEEP!". Steve Harris confirms he sees the figure which I think is nothing more than a case of matrixing to be honest, the eye seeing what it wants to see.

Attached Image: mary 1.jpg Matrixing or not?
Attached Image: mary zoomed.jpg All I have done here is trace around what appears to be the outlines of the figure, this was a screengrab of the closeup before they added on the enhancement

Night 2, Katy on the 3rd Floor in Room 22 - Alone, again? At least this time they've only left her in a room where a child died, not where an aggressive male spirit was known to be. Unlike Hill View Manor. Katy is sharing the room with the bloodstained dress of Mary, the child spirit killed on the train tracks. Nothing happens so Katy is replaced.

Room 22 - By the Hair Bear Bunch! They take the dress outside & hang it on the porch as a train passes. Barry then thinks he sees movement at a 2nd floor window but the house is confirmed as empty, re-entering the house they find nothing in that room & there are no cameras covering the window in question. The Kings Of Impatience bail to check evidence back at the Lab where Brad finds an EVP recorded at 140 Hertz they claim is saying "Where are you?" but I think its a young female voice calling for her Mommy but its an excellent piece of evidence.

For what its worth this will also be my final Ghost Lab review, admittedly they didnt try to fake on this show but theres just not much worth saying about this show.

Ghost Lab S02E02 The Betrayal reviewed

Again with the weird preview of the show then the credits run, I must say I am not a fan of this new format idea. I really dont need you spoilering the entire show before I even get to see it, whats the point? It ruins any kind of suspense level you might aim for especially with the stupid overly used incidental music.

Hill View Manor - New Castle, Pennsylvania.

Only days after Ghost Adventures did it for the second time on the Travel Channel? I think this is a really bad case of not checking what the competition are doing, if I'd been doing the show schedule I would have at least checked where Ghost Adventures & Ghost Hunters had been in the last 3 weeks and not aired anywhere if it was the same place. Airing this so close to the Ghost Adventures show just makes Discovery look like a complete bunch of amateurs who couldn't schedule the sun to come up if it were morning.

Katy in the Basement - Where according to this weeks Ghost Adventures the worst & most active spirit is. And the 2 fat Texans are leaving a slim petite woman on her own. Real Gentlemen, aint they?

Barry & Brad in Room 105 - Where nothing more active than a mentally handicapped paraplegic woman is said to be, Barry thinks he's getting touched on his arms. After another insanely short EVP session they move elsewhere. No patience at all what so ever. Katy reports (by radio) she heard what sounded like fingernails scratching the wall by her head. A door closes right in front of her, we dont get a whole shot of the door so it has to be discounted as she has a camera crew with her and they already made a point of no longer using the "nothing is faked" disclaimer message any more.

Katy says "no-one was around it" but when you see how much of the door wasn't in the shot as it shut you can see how easily it could have been faked, both the brothers try to debunk it then they go back to the Lab. Brad & Barry cream themselves over the footage & Katy points out she didnt shoot the whole door so its too easy to fake.

Night 2, Brad on the 3rd Floor Nurses Station - With Molly, a former nurses assistant who had worked at Hillview for over 20 years, she was brought in as an Era Cues experiment. At time index 16:09 to 16:12 watch something small & low to the ground move from out of the corridor behind Brad going in a straight line until it passes the camera. It happens JUST before Molly asks if Mary Virginia remembers her.

After the EVP Molly leaves & Brad comes in to join him and immediately goes off in pursuit of a shadow man, unlike Britt Griffiths on Ghost Hunters Barry is at least wearing a headcam which will have captured whatever he was looking at. See Britt, when you see something and chase it make sure you carry recording equipment so you dont look like the complete chump you always do. When Brad checks Barrys camera is turns out there was a loose wire so he caught nothing. Chump alert!

Back in the Lab they review the EVP tape & find something recorded at 10 Hertz which you can make out as "Hello" & it sounds female for sure. The following day its played back to Molly who cant confirm it as Mary Virginia. The door closing footage is played back for Candy (the caretaker), but I am stunned that no-one picked up on the moving object during the EVP with Molly.

Fort Niagra - Youngstown, New York.

The Klinge brothers are jumping at shadows during the hotspot walkthrough in broad daylight so heaven knows how jumpy they will be when it gets dark.

Brad & Barry in the Basement, Cory & Katy in the Officers Dining Hall - Both teams do EVPs and it makes a change that Katy isnt alone for the first time in her Ghost Lab tv career.

Brad & Barry in the Chapel - I told you these 2 have ADHD, they cant stay in a location for longer than a few minutes. I reckon its the same reason why Barry Klinge has so many repressed anger issues too. They had started off in the Basement at 12:25am and are here now at 1:22am so they didnt even spend an hour in the Basement. As they try provoking Cory & Katy think its gotten colder where they are.

Brad & Barry in the 2nd Floor Corridor - Seriously? Do they have ants in their pants? Are they just THAT incapable of staying in 1 location for any real period of time? Brad is provoking again and thinks he hears something (impossible to confirm due to incidental music). Back in the Lab they review the EVP where they claim the recording made at 15 Hertz says "We did not do this" but you cant hear any kind of words at all, its just noise. So they are sticking with awful quality EVP audio then. Brad uses the words "weak" and "whisper" to describe this EVP. So even he thinks its rubbish quality then.

Brad & Barry with Matt Anderson in the Vestibule - Matt was recruited for his ability to translate into French to encourage Non-English speaking spirits to communicate. Barry tries to perpetrate the worst fake ever by throwing his light over the room and claimed it had been knocked out of his hand, the director had made sure they were shooting from his headcam at the time to ensure both his hands were not visible in the shot. Back in the Lab they do playback of what I will now be calling Light Gate then they play audio caught recorded at 18 Hertz which they claim is saying "a betrayal of France" in French.

Ghost Lab S02E01 Dead Will Rise Again

I must admit I honestly did not expect this show to get picked up for a second season after the harsh savaging I gave it reviewing when the first 13 shows. The last review for this show was written on Wed 13th Dec 2009 and today is Wed 27th Oct 2010 so the show has been off the air over 10 months now. Well now its back, sadly not from outer space where it would have been much better off so we will see if the format has improved and if any of the complaints I made about season 1 have been addressed in any shape or form.

My concerns were as follows:-
Tombstone Shadow man, any admission of error or apology?
Constantly jumping to conclusions.
Thinking everything is paranormal.
Awful quality EVP's.

This review will be posted on the Syfy forum for Ghost Hunters, the Ghost Lab forum & on my blog.

Gettysburg.

Barry & Brad on the battle field - They're hearing stuff pretty much right away, theres no way to confirm their "cannon shot" but it seems Discovery ARE going to persist with the stupid incindental music that drowned out any chance of hearing it. And then the credits run? WEIRD way of starting of an episode and a new season.

Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.

I have to report that the disclaimer stating nothing is altered or faked is no longer being used at the start of episodes. In other words its open season for faking. We actually get a very rapid introduction to some of the Every Day Paranormal members (which is a darn sight more than they got in season 1, I had to Google each team members identity back then).

The Fairfield Inn - Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.

The Klinge Brothers do their initial walkthrough in a very different way from Ghost Hunters or Ghost Adventures. They are both normally toured through the location hotspots with the client telling them the claims. Here the Klinge brothers are going through alone with Steve Hock relaying the claims via radio from the Ghost Lab parked outside. Brad does a further briefing with the clients during the daytime checking more claims. Another difference is the Klinge Brothers dont do their investigations in complete darkness, there are always small light sources either set up or being carried.

Brad & Barry in the General J.E.B. Stuart Room - They start out doing an EVP then ask for activity on demand stating "theres a lot of noise, we have to know thats you" but that cant be confirmed due to Discovery & their incidental soundtrack. Showing they still suffer from ADHD they spend less than a minute in this location before deciding to move. Barry manages to sit still for the grand total of 37 seconds (trust me, I counted!) which must be an all time record for shortest time spent investigating a single location. FWIW Barry, if you went on GHA you'd be sent home having failed on the aspect of PATIENCE!

Barry in the Patrick Henry Room - Barry does an EVP in here on his own. Brad hears movement outside his room, with 2 heavy Texans plus camera crews for each of them it has to be discounted. Barry goes out to the landing have a look, theres no-one there. No shock at all. Steve reports nothing caught on camera so they go back to the Lab.

A shadow figure is found on a photograph in the 1757 Suite (probably taken during the baseline checks), it could not be conclusively recreated or debunked. They return to try out a new piece of equipment, the RTEVP Recorder or Real Time EVP recorder which relays data directly to the Lab to allow EVP's to be monitored in real time as they are recorded.

Barry & Brad in the 1757 Suite - They separate again to do an EVP, Barry claims he gets a response which when played back in the Lab (pretty much defeating the point of real time monitoring) says "Private John Riley" but its at 15 Hertz so 5 Hertz under the limit of human hearing, the playback is clearly heavily electronically processed to make it audible though. A historian does find record of an SJ Riley but his body was never found. This audio is played for the clients but they can only understand the whole thing after being told what it said.

Jennie Wade House - Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.

Brad & Barry in the Basement, Katy in the Attic Bedroom (2nd Floor) - Katy gets spooked by "footsteps" that turns out to be nothing but you can hear how much the floors of the attic react when people move across them. Barry & Brad give up on their EVP (after all of about a minute if that) to go check her (have you boys not taken your Ritalin today?). Back in the Lab she plays back movement but with a camera crew with her it has to be discounted.

Farnsworth House - Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.
Brad & Barry have hired 2 Civil War recreators to pretend to be snipers for an Era Cues experiment, Steve Harris is with them playing sounds of gunfire while they run through the actions without actually firing.

Jennie Wade House - Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.
Katy on the ground floor, Brad & Barry in the Attic - Brad & Barry hear what sounds like a female moaning in pain, with Katy in the house it cant be used sorry. If thaey had chosen ANY other member of the team they might have been able to use that sound. One of the brothers feels movement then Katy asks the exact same thing, they think its footsteps. Back in the Lab they replay audio of movement on the wooden floors, with 3 different camera crews in the house sadly its useless as evidence. Playback of the whimper from Barrys camera audio & an EVP recorded at 18 Hertz which sounds female, like talking & crying.

Ghost Lab s01e13

Lemp Mansion, St Louis, Missouri.

Brad & Barry in the Main Room (where nothing happens) then the Guest Bedroom (where nothing happens again) then the Bar (again where nothing happens) then the next floor on the Landing, as they are coming down the stairs you hear what sounds like a dog crying which they also hear & report. Reviewing the audio in the Lab you can't hear anything at all mainly due to the annoying incidental background music & noises, amazingly enough Barry tries to debunk the audio as possibly having come from outside the building which is completely different from his usual tack where he normally instantly declares a phenomenon to be paranormal.

What didn't help their investigations of the last 4 locations was they only spent about a minute maximum in each, obviously they may have spent longer in each place & tv editing only showed us them looking like kids with ADHD. After talking to a witness about his experience (isn't all that stuff normally done during the walkthrough?) Brad & Barry try a provocation experiment in the Vault, Barry gives his usual "did you just hear that" when there was no sound but the annoying background noises Discovery always play & Barry says it sounded like "a glass vibrating" so he's got super hearing now? Katie debunks it by telling them a big truck had just passed by.

They run an era cue experiment playing the noises of gunshots as the team take digital pictures all over the location.

Brad & Barry in the upstairs Bedroom, Brad thinks he saw something go into a bathroom on the thermal camera & Barry gets a reading of 66F in a room they'd got a baseline of 75F in. Neither one pointed out the airvent in the ceiling? Reviewing the footage back in the Lab its thrown out as inconclusive. Steve Harris plays them an EVP captured in the Side Room which they claim says "I don't like fish & I dont like birds" but personally all I could hear was muttering. They class it as a residual haunting.

McPike Mansion, Alton, Illinois.

You have to question the judgement of doing an investigation inside a property with a massive "Condemned, Do Not Enter" sign on the door especially when you discover the upstairs has holes in the floor in places.

Brad & Barry in the Master Bedroom, Barry hears something which they go and check out (I noted the graffiti 5 point star on the wall as they went up the stairs to the 2nd floor). Their convinced they hear something in the room they enter but all I could hear was the annoying incidental music, Brad says "it sounded like the board was moving". Thats probably because it had 2 very heavy Texans standing on it genius!

They try & make out it was paranormal but both of them seem to conveniently forget they were both standing on particle board when they heard & recorded the noise, Katie tries to confirm it sounds like "something being slid across the floor" but I wasn't buying that if it came for free. Brad says "nothing was moving" (apart from you & Barry) and "we heard it right in front of us" (because it was you 2 making the noise by standing on the particle board you idiot!). They also play an EVP that clearly says "Such a jerk", shame it sounds EXACTLY like Brad Klinge. I assume thats what they think of us viewers who constantly try to debunk them, well I love you boys too.

Brad meets with local historian Katelyn who shows him the gravestones/crypts of the McPike children.

Night 2 - Brad & Barry in The Cellar and Katie by the gravestones in the woods on her own, Brad gets a heat spike up to 92F in a room with a 64F baseline & it flucuates to 80F then 59F which Brad instantly declares means "something just walked by". Reviewing the evidence in the Lab they also catch the heat spike on the thermal camera but you can't see ANYTHING hot, only the heat sensor data changes.

Brad plays a completely inaudible EVP that he claims is saying "Oh my gosh" as well as another inaudible one they claim was saying "Out". Katie plays another completely inaudible EVP she caught that she says "sounds like a conversation between 2 kids", or it could just be corrupted audio data that your reading far too much into Katie? Brad claims her recordings say "Whats your name" and "Get closer", it just sounds like very badly garbled audio to me.

Ghost Lab s01e12

Complements of the season, I was a bit late reviewing this but I had nothing better to do today so here is this weeks show better late than never I guess ;-)

USS Lexington, Corpus Christi, Texas.

Brad & Barry start off with an EVP at the Kamikaze crash site, Barry actually served on this ship when he was in the navy so its a bit of a homecoming for him.

Kate, Hector & Ashlee (who we've never seen before this week) in the CPO Lounge where the torpedo hit, Kate thinks she hears water running which Hector debunks as possibly being in the pipes.

Jason & Steve Hock (who looks more & more like wrestler Scott Steiner every time I see him) on The Bridge doing an EVP.

Brad & Barry in the Historians Office doing an EVP, Brad with his normal obsession for shadow men is convinced he saw a head move.

Brad & Barry in the Engine Room, they think they hear either a person talking or someone yell (I heard nothing).

Reviewing their evidence in the lab they claim Brads Engine Room audio says "I'm burning inside the Lexington", quite frankly the audio is such a bad quality it could be reading the ingredients off a tin of chicken soup for all you can understand it.

For some reason the crew are then sent to do EMF readings all over the ship, aren't these normally done as baseline tests during initial set-up? So why are they doing them now? Anyone? Readings are 0.1 everywhere, very low apart from an 8 to a 12 in the engine room.

Night 2 - Brad & Barry in the Engine Room, they think they hear someone talking (I hear nothing) but the 2nd time he hears something I also hear like a bearly audible whispering but it might be the stupid "incidental noises" that the Discovery Channel love to use in the background. They move upstairs to check it out then hear quite a big bang from where they just were but they cant find the source.

Checking their evidence in the lab they play an EVP which they claim says "Shoot the plane" (why is it I can only ever hear the words once you've suggested them to me? Its EVERY time too!) as well as another they claim said "Help", again I couldnt make it out until they told me what I should be hearing.

Ye Kendall Inn, Boerne, Texas.

During their walkthrough outside the Victoria Suite the door appears to open itself. My main issue there is the upwards camera angle which means you can't see either of Brad Klinge's hands both of which are obviously within easy reach of the door handle. Whats even worse is the interior camera can't see where Barrys hands are because the sunlight shines right into the lens.

Brad & Barry in the cellar using an old EVP (it says "They can't find her") they recorded in a library building near by which connects to this Inn by an old underground tunnel now partially filled in to see if they could coax out the ghost on their recording.

Hector in the Marcella Booth Room, he gets a K2 hit after asking for it.

Steve Harris in the Sewing Room (I had to Google the Everyday Paranormal website to find out who he was!), nothing happens.

Brad & Barry in the Victoria Suite, Brad thinks he saw a movement & they both think they heard a women which Hector thinks he also heard from the room he was in. The Klinge brothers move to the Adjoining Room to Hector but nothing seems to happen there.

During evidence analysis Hector plays back the sound they all heard as thinking it was a woman and for a change even THEY can't hear it, Steve Hock also plays them a recording from the cellar which they claim said "Do it again" in response to them having played the old "They can't find her" EVP.

Ghost Lab s01e11

Hammock House, Beaufort, North Carolina.

1st Night - For some reason they constantly refer to this place as "Blackbeards House" which is completely untrue, the place was a guesthouse that Blackbeard once stayed at so you can hardly call it HIS house. During their 2nd EVP moments after high tide a motion detector is heard going off & we hear a bang like something falling over which turns out to be the motion detector they had taped to the door which they say was "ripped off". So its not possible the weight of the detector caused the tape to fail & it fell off due to gravity?

They record high EMF as well & even though Barry says "Its been up there all day long, you cant say the tape just failed" after getting that info Barry I'm 100% certain the tape failed. Especially if its been taped to the door all day. Shifts in the room temperature at night probably caused the glue on the tape to fail, pretty logical really. Checking footage the door is seen to move, logic says it moved after the detector fell off due to the sudden shift in weight that was removed by the detector falling off. Barry says the door moving coincides with the detector falling off, you'd think he'd make the connection that the detector falling off the door caused it to move.

They play back some EVPs, the 1st you can't hear at all which they claim says "come here" & the 2nd is bearly audible & too garbled to make out any words but they claim it says something like "where the rings stay".

2nd Night - They decide its a good idea to try digging in the garden to provoke a response but hire a guy with ground penetrating radar to do an initial survey so they don't hit any pipes or cable. Katie is sent to do an EVP as the Klinge brothers dig outside, nothing was found in the hole but the EVP was played back & Katie was really reaching with her claim that it said "Lets just say they were watching us" as you could hear sounds but no distinct words.

The Delta Queen, Chattanooga, Tennessee.
While taking baseline readings its discovered there is very high EMF (30 & above) & that power is routed around the ship in copper piping, so that might create a fear cage effect which explains a lot of claims of paranormal activity. For such professional investigators not one of them mentions the fear cage thing. The Klinge brothers start EVPs in the bar, Hector does 1 in the wheel house, Steve Hock in the engine room & Kate is left on her own in room 109 where the Captain had died.

Katie claims she heard footsteps come to the door of the room she was in, thats not impossible Katie seeing as the entire team was on the boat contaminating any possible source of evidence. Whats annoying is it "happened" just as Katie had turned the camera on herself.

Analysing the EVP's the day after Hector uses a rather poor choice of words by saying he "got a couple of questionable EVPs up in the wheelhouse" one saying "who's Martha" (it sounded like a female voice saying Arthur to me) the other saying "Edgar" which you can hear once they put that idea into your mind. Asking a former Captain they discover Edgar was a chief engineer of the boat who died of a heart attack, they play the Captain the EVP & he positively identifies the voice as belonging to the Edgar he knew.

Ghost Lab s01e10

Alcatraz, San Francisco California.

They are forced to unpack all their gear so they can ship it across to the island, it makes me wonder why they didn't ask one of the car ferries (and there are several) to take them AND the Lab over to the island. During the set-up & hotspot walkthrough they encounter audible noises in 2 different spots and a camera is knocked.

Day 2, Evidence Review - They get an EVP saying "I can't forget what I have done" from The Dungeon.

Katie is left to investigate The Dungeon on her own in the dark & hears several noises.
At the same time Brad & Barry were in Cell Block D, Barry was sure he heard a growl in Solitary Cell 14.

Day 3, Evidence Review - Barry plays some god awful quality recording that he claims is a growl, all I heard was noise.
Katie catches an EVP which you can bearly hear which they claim was saying "I want you" as well as one you can just about hear saying "I got you" which they claimed is saying "I got you now" but I can't hear the now part of it.

Day 4, Evidence Review - A recorder left in Robert Strouds cell catches an EVP saying "Tony Eniche" but they can't find a name matching on the list of inmates.

Katie & Steve Hock in the Hospital Wing, just after Steve says "I've got a pretty little girl here" you can hear what sounds like a long exhale.
Hector in Solitary Cell 14, we hear something metallic moving which Hector thought was a cell door closing. It turns out Brad & Barry who were close by heard the same thing.

Evidence Review - They caught the cell door closing sound on audio along with an EMF spike of 5.5 at the same time. We get yet another bad quality barely audible EVP that Katie caught that they claim says "I want her".

Ghost Lab s01e09

Hotel Galvez, Galvestone Texas.
1st Floor Music Room, Brad is convinced he sees a shadow walk past the window.

5th Floor Room 503, they get a weird low thermal hit off a chair after Brad says to sit down.
Later they discover they got an EVP when Brad asks if anything is in the chair it says "Yeah".

Room 500, the K2 goes off when they ask it to. Twice.

Presidio La Bahia, Goliad Texas.
Church Courtyard, after staging an era cues re-enactment the K2 meter goes crazy
Later checking discovers an EVP that said "Esta mero" which means this is the one.

Officers Quarters, 1 brother hears something move & the other catches some sort of movement on the camera.

Night 2, Goliad Massacre Site - Investigator Hector calls out for the spirits to come out of the trees in Spanish, at the same time a thermal camera freezes & a large branch breaks.

Day 3, They investigate during a storm to see if its energy increases Paranormal activity.
Baseline EMF readings are shown to be much higher, also you hear a rocking chair creak & the guy with the thermal camera thinks it moved too.

A couple of EVP's are captured, someone saying "Please Help" (I really couldn't hear it) and what Barry describes as a "scream" but it just sounds like noise. Barry discovers a correlation between capturing EVP's & weather/lightning strikes.

Ghost Lab s01e08

GDC Building - San Antonio, Texas.
Clearly not many people trusted or had heard of the Klinge brothers as they've had to return to the site of a previous investigation. During the 1st EVP one of the brothers claims to have heard "like a laugh" but the other brother didn't & neither did I, the K2 meter spikes.

In the accounting office they manage to capture a filing cabinet or something rectangular thinking its a shadow (@13:57), its debunked as a box (heck I sussed that with my own eyes on the tiny thermal screen) but Brad won't believe it. They go to try & recreate it with the thermal camera but really they should be checking the room with lights on with a normal camera to see what was in that spot. Its proved to be a box & Brad eats a slice of STFU pie.

In the day care centre they get another small K2 spike & 1 of them is convinced he's seen a shadow (again?) but they find nothing, Brads convinced something is following them (how? the last shadow was debunked as a BOX!) so you have to question his integrity as an investigator if he gets so het up about a possible shadow. Whatever happened to calm analysis? Even with zero proof of a shadow Brad says "We know your in here, we've established that fact", no we haven't Brad. Facts need PROOF! What you established was nothing with no evidence.

Moving downstairs Brad gets something that MIGHT be the outline of a figure (@20:18) , we know its the 1st time they used a thermal camera & he's already proved he can't be trusted to read it properly after the box incident. It is seen again during the evidence review but quite frankly the outline looks like the other Klinge brother Barry (the one without the hat). One of the team says its a water bottle & an independant expert from the company who made the thermal camera says the exact same thing but he is unable to fully debunk it. I find it odd they never went back to that door to look with the lights on as that would have confirmed 100% what the anomaly was. Barry claims he went back with the thermal to try & recreate it but we never saw that on camera so I call him a liar.

Volo Antique Mall - Volo, Illinois.
Movement is heard above them (its an old wooden building so its probably just settling), An alarm is heard going off (its unreal how slow they are to respond & start moving towards it!) which turns out to be an open door. The weird thing is the alarm by that door is turned off! Back in the lab we are shown the worlds grainest footage of the worlds smallest shadow right on the edge of an image. They try to recreate it with someone walking past inside the building. What they fail to try is someone walking past an exterior door that was shown during the indoor recreation, it could have even been a reflection of headlights through that doors window which is why nothing moved when that shadow was made. They also noted a heat spike on their data loggers when the alarm went off.

During this show they also schilled an advert saying the Ghost Lab dvd is now on sale in the Discovery Shop.

Ghost Lab s01e07

Catfish Plantation Restaurant, Waxahachie, Texas.
After bailing on the investigation a door handle is seen to move when the place is empty with cameras on both sides of the door. The door moving when 1 brother tests it is debunked.
When reloading cameras a spoon is found on the floor, its movement was not captured.
Knives & Forks are seen to have been moved, the movement was not captured.
Thinking they can get a Paranormal event on demand the brothers demand something to happen & few moments later there is a bang on the outside of the window (which quite frankly I think was 1 of their team members).
On debriefing the owner a piece of cutlury is heard moving behind them, a knife is caught moving on film. It is debunked as having fallen off.

Hotel Lawrence, Dallas, Texas.
1 brother has trouble with a hotel door but when he knocks & asks to come in it just opens 1st time.
The other brother manages to repeat this, they also catch footprints on the thermal camera which can be replicated but don't fade away like the ones they make themselves.
One of the team volunteers to sleep in the most haunted room in the hotel & catches a "yes" during an EVP.

Ghost Lab s01e06

Granbury Opera House, Granbury, Texas.
During their 2nd EVP, movement can be heard as though someone was walking through the rows of seats.
They get an EVP saying "No".
After a ridiculous amount of computer processing they claim to have caught another EVP saying "Yes, I'm John Wilkes Booth" but its AWFUL quality. A forensic audio expert confirms there is something being said but he can't make it out.

Garfield Furniture, Enid, Oklahoma.
1 brother feels like he got touched on the back of the neck in what might have been the room "Booth" died in. A noise is heard in the basement.
They catch an EVP that they claim is a man screaming, which quite frankly could be anything

Ghost Lab s01e05

White Castle, Louisiana - Nottoway Plantation.
One of the brothers sees a black form as they are setting up.
The blonde tech girl reports a cold spot (seconds before I was certain I heard what sounded like someone exhaling a breath).
They catch an EVP of a voice saying "What" very slowly.
They discuss the idea that the Mississippi river might be creating energy for ghosts, a datalogger test seems to back it up a little.
On a data sweep someone catches a "face" (taking a digital picture of a window that was wet outside in the dark with a flash on)

I even flipped the image so its the same layout as their "ghost"
but again they were really reaching, my screengrab of the guy who took the picture says it was his reflection.

Chicago, The Metro Club.
The brothers shoot themselves in the foot before even starting off to this location by asking "whose haunting it & why". So you aren't even going to bother asking IF its REALLY haunted? You must be real sure or real shit. I guess with the way I've debunked you each week we know which of the 2 it is. We get noises (like doors shutting) then they go downstairs & hear more noises when 1 brother thinks he hears a kids voice say "mom" then saw someone but the camera didn't get it as well as a torso that unsurprisingly the camera ddin't get either. Brad gets an EVP that says "what do you see now".

Whats quite annoying as they are doing their evidence summary they use a lot of personal encounters not caught on camera as actual evidence.

Ghost Lab s01e04

My thoughts:- Tattoo Parlour & former funeral home, Chicago.
EVP's at the dead former owners chair, the thermal camera jumps down every time they say his name. They also pick up a voice that says "Turn me on" & play an old EVP that to me sounds exactly like the same person asking the questions during that EVP. They catch an EVP that the owners friends say IS him.

Miss Mollys Hotel & former bordello, Fort Worth Texas.
High EMF is found in a bathroom, a female investigator is left alone in a room where women have reported feelings of being watched, Brad plays an EVP that sounds like nothing but they hear the word dance in it.

Pretty poor really. These show seem to be getting worse by the week.

Ghost Lab s01e03

I was very unimpressed by this weeks episode, they really phoned that one in.

1 evp in the 1st location, some very dodgy screwing around scaring their crew to "investigate fear" and an extremely suspect set of scratches on one of the klinge brothers that looked too fresh as though he'd just done it to himself.

Plus their claim to hear the ghost going "m-hmm" in agreement. wheres your recording of it then boys, thats just anecdotal unless you play back a recording.

Ghost Lab s01e02

I am currently watching this weeks episode from Tombstone and here are a few thoughts.
EVPs - the one they say sounds like "Choose" (@13:14), personally all I can hear is a voice saying "Scum!".
The speaker - odd that they allowed an employee to remain in the building during an investigation, as far as I am concerned anything that happened there was under suspicion.
Shadow Pictures, the one they show @ 28:16 is a classic of example of the mind creating an image from nothing at all.
However what they seem to gloss over on the picture of the "Shadow Man" they get is that about 3 feet to the right of him when they show the full image is another person (@37:05).

Both "shadow men" clearly in the same image, its probably just the way the rocks catch the light

There are 2 of them just like I said. Darkness & perspective sure are tricky eh?

The only way I have altered these images is to add the circles and to crop them.

With a little effort and observation I have debunked their Shadow Man, its a metal fence post.

Actually a set of metal fence posts.

Motion Detectors - Where the guys says "make this thing go off" and it does. But the only problem is you have zero clue where the detector is in relation to the camera as its dark so anyone could have been mucking about near it. When asked to "do it again now" it does within a few seconds.

Ghost Lab s01e01

I think the era cues ideas were interesting as was reviewing evidence on the fly.
I think the fact they have a disclaimer stating nothing is altered or faked is good too.

They had 2 pretty decent investigations using very unusual but interesting methods and I really enjoyed watching the show.

I think it was a different enough approach from GH & GHI to stand out on its own.
Its a matter of how it develops over a series, also if they keep the disclaimer on EVERY show or not.
As soon as that goes you know the money men got to them.

On a side note, does ANY Paranormal team hire anyone for their tech team as long as they have a foreign sounding name or aren't from America?
Harnois (French), Gonsalves (Spanish or Mexican), Fitzgerald (Irish). And the tech guys for this were all Hispanic as well.

Can you not get a job in a Paranormal Tech Team with an Anglocised name?
Not being a racist, its just an observation.
