Take a good and original idea like The Butterfly Effect that a person can travel into their own past life and change their present. The original was such a new concept it was a welcome breath of fresh air. Unfortunately the main character in the original was left as a vegetable by his time travelling and no longer able to travel into the past.
So what do the writers of the sequel decide to do? Create an entirely new bunch of people, one of whom has the same powers but only discovers it after a near fatal car crash that kills his best friend and fiancé. As he makes each progressive journey into the past apart from the 1st one his life gets worse and worse. His 1st journey led him to the almost ideal life with his girlfriend and friend still alive.
Unfortunately he got greedy and wanted more from his gift getting his life into worse and worse situations until at the end of the movie he decides to kill himself to allow his girlfriend to live on in a better life without him. A poor film, a very poor plot and storyline and an extremely poor sequel. If you've seen the original and think this might be worth watching then think again.
