I'm not giving this 1/10 because it's bad but it's not quite that bad. Sure their pretending its a remake of the 1985 movie which it's not. We have a character called Bud who becomes a friendly zombie, we get into a bunker (but we're more than 2/3's of the way through the movie before that ever happens) and thats about all that's anywhere close to the 1985 version. People change from sick, to dead, to zombie far too fast. They also made them all into super zombies, able to run fast, jump long distances and run/walk on walls & ceilings. That's the only real new idea this film brings to the table. Oh, and that Zombies explode when exposed to fire.
It steals a lot from Resident Evil and even goes as far as to steal from that sci-fi great "The Andromeda Strain" by calling the project that creates the virus "Project Wildfire" (the name of the underground bunker in The Andromeda Strain). You don't get enough character development on any of the people to care who lives or dies. Their very weak idea on how to use Zombie Bub before killing him was truly laughable in it's lack of both creativity and unoriginality.
They defeat too many Zombies much too easily and far too many of them live at the end. It's a very weak ending with 3 of them escaping alive and the fake-out scare right at the end. I thought Romero had sullied his good name before but this has truly dragged whatever was left of his good reputation through the mire and beyond. I wouldn't even recommend this to the most die-hard Zombie movie or Romero fans.
