It doesn't score 1/10 but it sure as heck deserves to! There isn't a single original idea in the entire film, nothing that hasn't been seen before in the show and nothing that will inspire fans and having them waiting with baited breath for films 2 and 3 still yet to come. Basically Bender is taken over and used to rob stuff from the past. The film makes lots of nods to the original series and fans will have fun spotting all of those.
Anyone that doesn't guess the ending is too stupid for words. I'd worked it out the 2nd time we saw Lars. Yes the film looks pretty and it's wonderful to see all the characters back together again but this is just like The Simpsons Movie, cobble together a load of old ideas, claim their new and hope the fans won't notice. I'd have rather they took another 5 years and came up with a completely original storyline. Fans will enjoy it or hate it or mildly abhor it. I'm in the 3rd camp, Abhor Central. Not enough for a thumbs up, not awful enough for a thumbs down. My rating - meh!
