My TNA Weekly Catch-up, Impact 12th Jun 08

To those wondering who Kevin Sinex was (the show is dedicated to his memory), he was a member of the stagecrew @ Slammiversary who was killed in a scaffolding accident.

TNA Heavyweight Championship, Kaz vs Samoa Joe. Joe & Kaz worked each other REALLY well here, neither man had problems putting the other over & both were willing to sell for each other. Joe won off The Musclebuster, Great match!

World X Cup Preview Tag Match, Team Japan (Naruki Doi & Masato Yoshido) vs Team TNA (The Motor City Machine Guns). Both teams gave a really good account of themselves here, Team Japans guys were as fast & fluid as either Shelley or Sabin are. Excellent win for Team TNA & a truly excellent match from both teams. This is what WWE just can NOT offer!

Tag Team Championship, James Storm & Robert Roode vs LAX. Query, how are Roode & Storm worthy of a title shot? Who have they beaten as a tagteam to be #1 contenders? Roode & Storm cheated the win off a superkick with a loaded boot. The ref restarted the match after a protest by Hector Guerrerro. Hernadez made the eventual win off a powerbomb, LAX retain the titles.

Knockout Match, Velvet Sky vs Gail Kim. Kim jumped Sky on the entrance ramp before she'd ever reached the ring but this one had started way back in the womens locker room before this match had even been announced. Kim took the win but this could have been much better than it was.

World X Cup Preview Singles Match, Team International (Alex Koslov) vs Team TNA (Curry Man), another good quality match, Koslov won off a bit of an iffy looking frogsplash (I wasn't too sure about his landing unless Curry Man was overselling it).

X Division Match, Sonjay Dutt vs Conseqences Creed. Dutt took the win off an amazing looking Hindu Press in his 1st match as a heel.

Lumberjack Match, Kurt Angle vs AJ Styles. Lumberjacks were Team 3d & Tomko (representing Angle) & Christian Cage, Rhino & Matt Morgan (representing Styles). Angle won this off the Olympic Slam thanks to a bit of interference from Brother Ray. Abyss came in to stop the post match beatdown & Awesome Kong executed the contract on Karen Angle who is now officially part of the roster.

Of tonights workers I'd like to NAME & SHAME - Booker T, LAX, Rhino, Christian, Brother Ray, Kurt Angle, Awesome Kong, Raisha Saeed, Kevin Nash, Jaqueline, Hector Guerrerro & Angelina Love. None of whom wore a black arm band. If TNA's biggest heels (Storm & Roode) can be man enough to wear one then everyone should have!
